BioMat®

The BioMat® is an FDA approved medical device which converts electricity into deeply penetrating far infrared rays (FIR) (nature’s invisible light) and cellularly activating and renewing negative ions (found abundantly in nature). Studies suggest that beneficial exposure to FIR reduces swelling, increases blood flow, stimulates the production of healthy cell tissue, encourages the elimination of cellular waste and toxins, promotes faster healing and has been shown to destroy cancer and viral cells without harming surrounding healthy cells. It penetrates 6-8 inches into the innermost recesses of the body, stimulating healing and regeneration of nerves and muscle tissue layers.

Negative Ions are negatively charged molecules or atoms and are found in highest concentration around waterfalls and pounding surf. Negative Ions have been studied for their beneficial effects on human health and wellbeing. Research by Dr. Takada Maku of Japan shows that with the introduction of negative ions to the human body there is increased calcium and sodium in the blood and blood purification is promoted through increased alkalinity. Exposure to negative ions has been found to revitalize cell metabolism, enhance immune function, purify the blood, balance the autonomic nervous system, promote a feeling of wellbeing and more.

Unlike heating pads and blankets, the BioMat® functions without the production of harmful electromagnetic frequencies (EMFs). BioMat® is a stand alone therapy that can also be combined with other therapies.

What to expect…

BioMat® sessions are deeply restful for most. Treatments take place in a setting similar to what one might expect for a massage. The full length BioMat® is placed on a massage table and covered with a cotton pad and a sheet. Clients lie on the BioMat® and it is turned on. The BioMat® range of settings are from no or little heat (Negative Ion Therapy) to high heat for thermal therapy (Infrared Ray Therapy and Negative Ion Therapy). Clients remain fully clothed for all sessions.
