Yes, water is an essential nutrient—in fact, it’s the most vital one for human survival.
Here's why:
Every cell in your body needs water to function properly.
It helps regulate body temperature through sweat and respiration.
It’s key for circulation, digestion, and nutrient absorption.
It cushions the brain and spinal cord, and keeps joints lubricated.
It supports the removal of waste through urine, sweat, and bowel movements.
Since the body can't store water like it does fats or carbohydrates, we need to replenish it daily.
We hear it all the time—drink more water! But how much is really enough? The old “64 ounces a day” rule doesn’t consider your weight, activity level, or how much coffee you drink.
Here’s a quick tip: take your body weight, divide it by 2, and that’s how many ounces of water you should drink daily. Add more if you exercise or consume caffeine
From clearer skin to better digestion and energy, the benefits of staying hydrated are huge—and the journey starts with one simple habit.
